CARR TROUBLE (CHANGING ENDS, SERIES ONE)

© ITV When you place the words ITV and sitcom side by side, the British TV channel doesn't really have much of a glorious history. While ITV has excelled at drama, it has struggled to match the BBC's or Channel 4's sitcom output. Mention ITV sitcoms and it tends to conjure up memories of ropey shows like ' On The Buses ,' ' Man About The House ,' ' George and Mildred ,' ' Never The Twain ,' ' Curry and Chips ,' ' The Upper Hand ' and ' Duty Free '. Even its edgier shows like ' The New Statesman ,' ' Men Behaving Badly ,' ' Mr Bean ,' ' Brass ,' ' Vicious ' and ' Benidorm ' can't quite hold a candle to the two rival broadcasters' output. © ITV However all that could be changing in this era of streaming. Unencumbered by the need for a studio audience, the channel has scored a success with the first series of Nancy Harris' Dublin comedy drama co-production with B...

THE SECRET OF HIS SUCCESS (STILL: A MICHAEL J FOX MOVIE)

© Apple TV+ In the 1980s, Michael J Fox seemed to have it all. His sitcom ' Family Ties ' was a massive success, challenging ' The Cosby Show ' and ' Cheers ' in the ratings. He also made a successful leap into movie acting with the iconic ' Back to the Future ' trilogy but also scored box office hits with ' Teen Wolf ,' ' The Secret of My Success ' and ' Doc Hollywood '. However, we all know by now that at the age of 30 in 1991 he revealed publicly that he had started to exhibit signs of early onset Parkinson's Disease. © Apple TV+ Fox hasn't retreated from the public eye, though, as the disease has ravaged his body. He has been a prominent campaigner for Parkinson's Disease research and has continued to act in TV shows like ' The Good Wife ,' ' Curb Your Enthusiasm ' and ' Designated Survivor '. Now at the age of 61, he has teamed up with director Davis Guggenheim for a deeply personal reflect...

All of them have enjoyed two seasons of bliss at clubs like Leeds United, Leicester City and Manchester United, only to see their dream go sour. SERIOUS PEOPLE (SUCCESSION, SEASON FOUR)

© HBO There's something delicious about the makers of ' Succession ' setting a pivotal scene in the final season in a karaoke bar. Alan Ruck's delusional Connor Roy has dragged his siblings, Jeremy Thomas' Kendall, Sarah Snook's Shiv and Kieran Culkin's Roman to the venue as he tries to come to terms with the fact that he might be jilted at his own wedding. As Connor  mangles Leonard Cohen's 'Famous Blue Raincoat,' the karaoke bar becomes the perfect metaphor for his three siblings. Throughout the show, each of them has been a pretender in both senses of the word. © HBO Like people singing karaoke, Shiv, Kendall and Roman have been doing an unconvincing impersonation of someone else - their dad. Each sibling's illusion is brutally shattered, however, when their father, Brian Cox's Logan Roy turns up to persuade them to shelve their opposition to a deal he's cooking with Alexander Skarsgard's streaming billionaire Lukas Matsson to...
